Henley Suzuki Violin Group

Henley Suzuki Violin Group consists of five groups at different levels ranging from beginner (‘Pre-Twinkle’) to Book 4/5. The groups meet on Saturday mornings four or five times each term at the Henley Music Centre, Christchurch, Reading Road, Henley-on-Thames. There is a performance at the end of each term, either in conjunction with the Henley Music Centre at Christchurch, or at a different venue. The groups have also performed in London at the Purcell Room and in the South Bank Centre foyer as well as on the bandstand on Mill Meadows, Henley, in Caversham Court Gardens, Reading, and in central Henley as part of the Living Advent Calendar.

Group lessons are an essential part of the Suzuki Method, and are fun and stimulating, providing essential experience in ensemble playing and musicianship using a mixture of Suzuki and non-Suzuki repertoire. There is a charge of £7 per session, payable by cheque at the beginning of each term.

Members of the violin groups can also join Vivaldi Superstrings and Henley Youth Chamber Orchestra, which rehearse weekly at the Henley Music Centre, under the tutorship of Paul Cox. In addition, Music Theory lessons are available at the Centre.
